The implants in my ears are a bit different. I use a special transmitting coil which is worn around my neck or inside of a hat. That coil is plugged in to the headphone port of a device, such as a mobile phone. Sound from the device is carried through the coil in the form of electricity which creates a magnetic field. This of course causes the magnets in my ears to twitch and actually creates sound that I can hear in my implants. It is really cool. Most normal speakers work on a similar principle, except they usually use a magnet to move a coil, whereas I use the coil to move the magnet."
