Hello I am starting a new project and it involves taking plasmids with genes that are not present in the yeast genome and transforming them inside. I've been doing some reading and I have the sequences that I intend on using but I was curious if there is a better place to purchase plasmids than the ones on the top of Google results. Also if you folks have any input I would gladly appreciate it.

I hear many people vouch for them, but I hear as many people say they are miserable to get anything from if you're not a school.

Is there a way to order specific strains of yeast if you have the entire genome? Instead of doing the transformation if it's already out there

Addgene hasn't been a problem for our Community Lab, and we're not associated with any school or university.
Not sure where you are, but for yeast strains, there is this: https://nrrl.ncaur.usda.gov/
