I was going to play the word VICARIAD which is on obsolete
version of VICARIANCE but I decided that I might get away with a
definition that was effectively defining itself by itself "the
existence of vicariant forms" - I will admit that despite my
training I did not know this word - the idea that different forms
may arise on either side of a geographical barrier is well known
to me but that it was defined by this word was not. Other of you
seem to be more knowledgable for it earned me a D3
