Everyone who submitted a def has voted, so I've been able to start compiling the results a bit early.

Johnny Barrs and the Dictionary tied for first place with 7 points each.  The Dictionary and I got a D7 for the Easter Monday Yorkshire game, but is not available to deal, so Johnny takes the next deal with an unnatural 7 for his armoury furniture.  Alan Mallach and Shani Naylor are the fortunate runner-up with 5 points apiece.

That word is nearly ungoogleable. Your post is the top result. Does your copy of the OED have a more substantive definition or a sense of play?

Searching for pykestole alongside Ripon gives two sources, one in Japanese, and one in latin, neither of which I'm confident in enough to parse:
