Here are 11 definitions for dawt | daut. One of them comes from an actual dictionary article about the word. That is a little longer than normal, because Armistice Day is a public holiday in France, and in the morning my wind band will be playing at a church service followed by a procession

I'm guessing Scots, though based on the accuracy of my recent guesses that's a good reason to believe it's not. Anyhow, of those, the long and the short of it: 1 and 6.

I'm not convinced that daut = daughter, so I'll vote 2 & 4 instead.
