We ended up with a respectable list of 10 fake defs and one real one. Please vote for your two favorites by the deadline of 4pm CST or 9pm GMT on  Sunday July 5. I'm extending the deadline a bit because of the American 4th of July holiday. I'm going to be driving in a parade on the 5th (yes, the day after the holiday) and won't be able to post results on a timely basis.

Happy 4th of July to all who celebrate. Despite current political conditions, we can still celebrate the 250th anniversary of the great experiment. And happy voting for your favorites!

I'll vote 1 & 3, as #2 seems to be a definition for the usual spelling of air.

And happy 4 July in New Zealand as my daughter is celebrating her 21st birthday tonight.

Confirm DQ. I said that I knew the word, in at least two senses. One of those senses was on the list. And in the course of researching my fake, I found a third, which is the only one of the three that is not obsolete.
