Well, good luck to us all as I am dealer again. And the word, in all its glory is:

Distelfink.

Please send your DQs (ASAP) and clever made-up definitions to this email address:

nancyshepherdson @ hotmail.com

Otherwise, I might not find them.

The deadline is 36-ish hours from now: 11:30am CDT Wednesday May 6 or 4:30pm GMT also Wednesday. I trust you can figure out your local deadline time.

Happy defining!

That should be "Rd. 3646:" There are no A through K that would lead to an "L" round. Here we go again.

I was wondering if we needed 64 bit numbers to count the rounds yet.

Even If we do, Python conventions apply.

Thanks, Efrem. It is a go anyway. (And you may not actually know it, just sayin') Do you want to submit a def?

I will; I think I have 3+ hours to do it. And, if I don't see what I think it means, I'll withdraw the DQ and vote.

The Python convention is that 3646L means the same thing as 3646 and the L accepted but ignored. This is (or rather was, until 2019) to make things easier for for programmers accustomed to writing the L suffix, which only has meaning in languages like C, and in versions of Python from before 2003.

I thought it had something to do with Monty Python.

Well, it does. The programming language Python was named after Monty Python, because the creator of the language, Guido van Rossum, was a Monty Python fan. And the early documentation is full of in-jokes about cheese shops.
