I originally found this woid in A New English Dictionary on Historical Principles while looking up something else, but thought the substitution of "dance" for "ball" sounded better in A Dictionary Of Slang And Unconventional English.
My apologies to John Barrs, who hazarded a (accidentally correct) humorous guess at the woid while submitting his def. I interpreted it as a DQ. Goes to show you that dealers should probably refrain from commenting on not-clear DQs.
