Folks,

The word for Round 2991 is:

*********************
FUGELMAN
*********************

where capitalization just makes the letters easier to read. It has no other significance.

Please send your invented definitions of FUGELMAN by private email to emallach at verizon dot net in the next 46-47 hours, by 9 am US EDT on Thurs., June 20. If  you know what it means, please let me know ASAP by private email to the same address. If enough people know it I'll pick another word - hopefully in time to keep the deadline. Just don't hit Reply or Reply All. Either will send your message to the whole group.

According to timeanddate.com, the deadline is:

and other times in other places. You might want to confirm any time conversion that affects you. That site's good, but nobody's perfect.

I expect votes to be due two days later, 9 am Saturday in the eastern U.S..

New players are welcome. (So are old ones who've been quiet for a while. Come back to the fold.) Just send in a definition that you invented without looking up what the word really means. Full rules at  http://www.dixonary.net/game-rules-and-advice/rules.

The round number in the original subject line was wrong. This is round 2992. Future messages will carry the correct round number.

Nothing else has changed.

I am confused. My notes say that round 2990 was QUICETree and 2991 was GARTIE. So this should be round 2992, shouldn't it?

Don't pay the fugelman,  until he gets you to the other side.

Now there's a blast from the past.

The lines below show Efrem's Email address as I see it. I don't think that is a valid Email address.  On the other hand, it is possible that my version of Thunderbird is out of date and this is a valid format.

I would expect an email address to have the form jo...@mailsomewhere.com. I don't know what Thunderbid does with the "via dixonary" format, but perhaps that explains why a message that I was sending to Efrem got sent publicly. When a word is announced, I send my fake definition by replying to the message announcing the word.
