Dear people

Having received a def for the reprised rubble that was obviously the end of the defs!!! and so it turned out

Many of you had difficulty with the names of theatres - had I realised that I might have chosen a different word but... it actually comes from Pallas Athena - Mythology says that a wooden statue of her was a protection to Troy and was stolen by Odysseus (and Diomedes) from Troy and later taken by Aeneas to the site of Rome where it became the thing that protected the citadel and was there for several centuries (at least until CE241 with legends that it was transferred by Constantine to Constantinople to legitimize his reign)

Figuratively it became a symbol of protection in 16th Century English - often relics of saints, but more generally things like Drake's Drum and the Gibraltar Apes  - hence #7 is the definition I used. Tim L and Nancy voted for that thus it received a D2. Tim L  also provided the winning definition and Nancy becomes the real winner

So take it away Tim
