Johnny Barrs, whose def was publicly posted as a dixon, is the next dealer with 5 points.

I was the first one to vote and had previously seen John post his definition, but I chose to vote for it anyway. Not sure about our other players.
*I will be gone the next 2 weeks and don't want to bother with the game, so don't wait for my definition.*

There is no rule authorizing early closing of the submission phase, and little precedent for it–only twice that I know of: 3334, 3358.

Why are you quoting rules to me, Paul?

I would assume your comment about waiting (or not) for your definition.

I am still puzzled as to why so many players voted for a dixoned definition. When I saw this, I thought I was missing something, or not in on some joke. John apparently never submitted a replacement for it.

There were a lot of messages in this round, and I think at least some players missed the dixon as a result. I remember having to do a double-check. But not all: Debbie says she voted for it knowingly.

Johnny's response to the crown message was close to or after the submission deadline, so maybe there wasn't time for a replacement.

As for the joke: I thought the win was rather funny, if unintentionally so.
