Here we have 13 defs of the word NUMMS  only one of which comes from my dictionary.  Please vote for your two favourites by public reply to this message before the deadline:

        10:00 UTC/GMT on Tuesday 17th February in London

 6.  Small decorative knots or loops used to finish the edge of a garment or textile.

 7.  Low, indistinct murmurs of dissent or reluctance, uttered without open objection.

 8.  In mathematics, particularly in relational algebra, values that are knowable but unknown.

 9.  [Informal] Bolts that attach connecting rods to the driving wheels in a steam locomotive.

10.  An infectious disease that causes a painful rash on the tongue and palate, and (rarely) in the nasal cavity.

11.  A state of mild excitement and hyperfocus, as when one anticipates winning a video game but must concentrate on making the right moves. (sl.)

12.  A rare genetic disease of the spleen, characterized by abnormal mobility due to the laxity of the ligaments holding it in place (named after a village in Flanders).

13.  The original name for plus fours (breeches or trousers extending below the knee, four inches longer than traditional knickerbockers). [Named for their designer,  Scottish golfer Thomas Numms].

Hi Tim,

Thirteen definitions, and I do not believe a single one of them. Least of all my own. LOL

Let's try my luck with one of the diseases, and add the bolts for good measure.
