While intrigued that a housewife might have "contents", I'll vote 6 & 8.
And with 4 defs missing, that means a total of 19 players...

A "housewife" (pronounced "hussif", I was told, but that may be regional) was the term for a mending
kit issued to British soldiers. I still have one bought from a surplus shop and used when camping.

Best wishes,
Tim Bourne.

Tim B is absolutely right about the housewife and its pronunciation.  I was issued with one when I joined the Royal Air Force nearly 60 years ago, and spent my first week using the contents to sew nametags on all my clothes, .

Sounds like an adjective to me, though that doesn't narrow it down enough. Of those, I'll take the impractical, unbelievable 3 and 14.

Several of these sound quite probable, which is always a problem. Ah, well...I'll go with

#1- the westerly breeze, and

#3 - flighty

#1  #3

I'll take 6 for plausibility and 15 for creativity:

That is a relief to know. I was wondering why a housewife would swallow a
tape measure and who knows how many other tools.
