Yesterday started the DSC racing season with the Frostbite Regatta.  There wasn’t any frost (or much wind) but we managed to have four races.

Thank you to race committed of Roger Smith, Sherry Smith, Reed Smith (no relation) and Liz Connell for making something out of nothing.

The temps were in the mid to high 70s with the wind gently blowing out of the east initially and then shifting to the south east.  The score sheet shows winds of 0,1.5,1.96 and 1.3 for the four races.

The trick for the day was to keep your head out of the boat and look for the wind on the water.  The wind had a tendency to fill in different spots during the race so you had to pay attention.

We had 3 fleets represented and seven racers and the racing was quite close.

Here are the results

Boat Number Name   Total Points
C22 309 Chris Hodge 1 1 2 3 7
C22 242 Bobby Edmond 2 2 3 2 9
C22 7452 Gavin Down 3 3 4 4 14
MC 1429 Randall Haire 8 6 1 1 16
FS 1665 Addison Cline 4 4 4 8 20
FS 3113 Tony Berry 5 5 6 8 24
FS 3382 Dave Hilgendorf 6 7 6 5 24

Congratulations to Chris Hodge for winning the Frostbite Regatta!

Racing again next Saturday.  Let’s see if we can get 10 boats on the line.

Club standings will be posted later on the website.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi All,

Quick correction.  Gavin Faircloth was sailing 7452 not Gavin Down.  I have updated the standings and included below.  Hopefully Gavin Down can also make it the scoring sheet this spring.

Boat Number Name   Total Points
C22 309 Chris Hodge 1 1 2 3 7
C22 242 Bobby Edmond 2 2 3 2 9
C22 7452 Gavin Faircloth

I crewed for Tony Berry.  We didn't win any races, but we led the pack in laughs.  Here are a few images from the day.

I don’t remember you getting in our boat.  No one else has yellow grip tape do they?
