Hi All
I am working on my own DR/SE game now there is no non-VD version going to come out in the foreseeable future.

was there any work on how to put Divine into Divine right or has anyone got any ideas how this could happen?
at the moment I am thinking that a faction can use gold to commission a temple (bribe) to join them. for that effort they get a priest a temple guard and a temple marker.
the priest can have a few divine spells depending on the God that is worshiped.
a priest of healing could reduce the number of wounded a battle creates and turn a killed hero into a wounded hero.
a priest of War could give a +1 to a battle and a +1 to a hero's dueling roll.
when a priest casts his spell he is removed and placed on his temple. Has gone back to do some prayers.
if another faction wants the temple that another player has, they commission a bigger one, costing 3 gold (treasure). the priest the guard are placed with the new faction, and they get a second guard as the temple is bigger (Level 2).
there is probably a pantheon of 5 gods of Minaria
order and light
crops and fertility
wisdom and healing
death and travel
war and hero's
Zorn possibly has a shaman.
and shucassam would worship a Girion god.
a separate pantheon for Girion.

One simple rule I wrote is that, for each gold that a monarch sacrifices at the Temple at the end of his movement phase, the controlling player is awarded a fate counter. For each fate counter that is redeemed immediately after any player’s random-events roll, the redeeming player can modify the roll by +1 or –1. Players can negate or augment each other’s modifications with their own fate counters, regardless of whether it is their turn.

I share your perspective on the dynamics of five. I designed four prophets based largely on the colors of Magic: the Gathering, and I boosted the powers of Nonnus to make him the fifth prophet. Each represents an outlook distinct from—and sometimes in direct conflict with—those of the other prophets. By making each prophet adhere to the concepts of a single color/philosophy, each becomes distinct and more interesting. Their spells are therefore often specific to their philosophies, e.g. Nonnus cannot cast offensive magicks, while the red prophet cannot cast protective ones.

Not at all mercenary, the prophets are allocated to players before the game begins and are deployed then. Players can decide among themselves who will get which prophet, but none can be controlled by a player who already controls one of the five Magicians of a competing color: the BH, the Eaters, the Witchlands, Starbeard, and the Arch-Druid (a Magician-level "kingdom" published in a previous edition of The Junkyard). Thus, Nonnus would never serve a player whose alliance includes the SWK or the Witchlands.

Glenn and I expanded DR2's curse spells, adding non-curses such as spells of healing and battle magicks. Each prophet could cast spells appropriate to his color/philosophy. Additionally, each has unique powers, such as Nonnus's ability to protect characters from fate rolls; each also has unique limits, such as Nonnus deactivating if his player ever operates Greystaff.

I notice when reading Nonnus that his exemption to fate rolls is limited to EoW and five central human nations, the primary followers of the Minarian pantheon. Shucassam and Rombune possibly are tending to the Girion gods, and the Demi humans have their own gods.

I have a second complementary pantheon for Girion based on chaos rather than the pantheon of order of Minaria.

Chaos and dark (black/red)

Wealth and hedonism (green)

Knowledge and power  (Blue?)

Undeath  (Black) (black hand is a renegade priest)

War and plunder  (Red)

Starbeard is magic of weather but what is then the magic of the blue color?

As my version includes scarlet empire I have added its hero's and more importantly its magic items. I am currently. amongst other things working on cards for each and every one so the player gets a card with every special mercenary and magic item. J. says somewhere players like having cards, so they know what they have on the board, so I'm expanding on that. these cards are 5 cm x 4.5 small enough to have a few, big enough to get information on.
