Having been "informed" informally by several who had immigration or otherwise issues arranging for Sydney, I'm posting >3 months in advance precise date *and* location of the next workshop :)

I've found 1-2 Feb in Seattle is the best time to follow-up whatever we accomplish next week in Sydney. There are a number of good reasons for this time/place.

* It is new: we try to change venues to make it more accessible
* Amazon, Azure and Google tracing engineers are nearby and a few who couldn't make it can make this.
* It doesn't conflict with a couple noted events (perform and jfokus), nor chinese new year
* a lot of good 90's music started in seattle, and I'm heard they have good coffee

Anyway, we are looking for a host, so if you have a nice venue with a room for <= 20 (more than that is too much), and nice food options nearby please shout!

best,
-A

So a mystery site offered to host, but needs a week to confirm. I'll ping back if that doesn't work.

glad to see some familiar and new folks able to make it this time!

I'm in! Not sure who the mystery site is, but we (Google) can certainly host any number of people. I suspect the same is true for Amazon, Microsoft, and a few others on this list, so we should have plenty of options even for a slightly larger group.

Thx for the offer morgan. You are making things less mysterious mentioning you arent the mystery site :)

Anyway I did have feedback that berlin was less productive vs other times with less people being wildly more productive notably paris. Assumption being the count of people being a key factor.

So, one thing to bear in mind is room size aside there seems to be a sweet spot which is less than 15 so far.

Regardless, glad to here we have options!

Best,

See y'all there

Since you are likely to get a large number of people who want to come, would it be worth having some kind of larger open meetup alongside/after the event so that people who just want to find out what happened don't feel they need to be in the room for the small group discussion?

Sounds cool. Alongside might be hard as it would divert focus, but If
someone wants to pick a local meetup to hijack for that friday evening
(say 7pm), I'm keen to help.

done, though you can also edit it yourself :)

thanks for coming.

NOTE TO ALL: Please suggest agenda items by editing the doc. We have a lot of new folks here, and probably many of you haven't done an overview of your system. If you haven't put a doc in the implementors folder, lemme know and I'll make one for you. If you have one there, but haven't presented yet, please do!

Other non-intro topics are welcome, too for example techniques or working sessions towards something that is strategically better off considering the parties here. We often discuss things that are too hard to do over (100) mail or github issues.

Think of how to best leverage the tens of thousands of dollars worth of attention we're gathering into one room.
