Hi!!
For my thesis I am doing using Distance with the R packages, I am using summarize_ds_models but I dont undertand the results: Table:

Model comparison table

|   |Model  |Key function |Formula  | C-vM p-value| $\hat{P_a}$| se($\hat{P_a}$)| $\Delta$AIC|

|8  |\texttt{data.hn.eco.pcobertura}              |Half-normal  |~ecosistema + pcobertura                   |        0.942|       0.397|           0.143|       0.000|
|1  |\texttt{data.hn.eco}                         |Half-normal  |~ecosistema                                |        0.930|       0.428|           0.053|       1.079|
|12 |\texttt{data.hn.hora.pcobertura.eco}         |Half-normal  |~horas + pcobertura + ecosistema           |        0.915|       0.398|           0.106|       1.601|

I don't understand what $\hat{P_a} or se($\hat{P_a}$ stands for. Thank you all for your help!

Maria

Welcome to the list and good luck with your thesis.

The estimated parameter$\hat{P_a} is the probability of detecting an object, given it is within the truncation distance of the line or point. In the summary you provide, that value is roughly 0.4, meaning the probability of detecting your study animals if they are within the truncation distance is 0.4.  The other quantity, se($\hat{P_a}$, is the precision of the estimate of detection probability.

I hope that helps.
