How to port DISLIN to another h/w architecture?

Hello, all.

I would like to port the current version of DISLIN to another hardware platform that uses modern Linux distros as the operating system. The architecture is 64-bits and the Linuc distros that run on it have all of the modern Linux features available (gcc, make, autoconfig, libraries, etc.)

The port, if it happens, would be put back into the DISLIN community.

How could that happen?

Dear Dave,

for porting Dislin to another architecture with Linux, you need the following  requirements:

   - access to the Dislin source code. I can manage this and will send you a download link to your

     mail address;

  - some development tools such as a C compiler. You have it already.

  - X11, Xt, OpenGL  and OpenMotif runtime and development packages, which are used by Dislin.

You can then execute a script file for creating a Dislin library and check if there are any error messages.

Thank you, Helmut. A few more details.....

1) the hardware architecture is, in Linux-speak, "s/390x".....that is the current generation of IBM mainframes; the IBM z boxes  (https://developer.ibm.com/articles/what-is-ibm-z/).

2) the initial o/s is Ubuntu 20.04. If anyone wants another Linux distro (that runs on s/390x, of course) drop me a note here and I see if I can't make that happen.
