AFAIK you have to pay license for codec usage, not for implement it. So having G729 code on ffmpeg doesn't mean that you can use it for free.

just like H264, the answer is yes.I assume that, just like H264, if it is already in chrome through a dependency, they have taken care of the license fee problem.That's also why I do not expect this to be in the webrtc stand alone code, but maybe in Chrome (hopefully everywhere with a compilation flag, but hey, that would be pushing my luck)regards

The license is per channel usage on end-products. 0 channels => 0 fees ;)

you can't.Additionally, the webrtc Product Manager said there is no plan to add support for it in the future.
