As per my understanding ,  call between ipv6 only and ipv4 only clients, the media should relayed via turn server which is listening to both ipv6 and ipv4 addresses.
But 42 chrome, ipv6 only client not getting ipv6 relay candidates.

what could went wrong with my configuration?

Does chrome support ipv6 allocation using ipv4 transport ? I think no. There is no REQUESTED-ADDRESS-TYPE (0x0017)  in the allocation request. Can anybody confirm this ?

Hi there,

Noticing this is a 5 year old question....

Has there been any progress on this?

Specifically, if user A has an ISP that supports IPv4 only (normal NAT) and user B's ISP supports IPv6 only (publicly accessible) will we still need TURN?

Thanks,

update:

After pondering it, I can understand IPv6<->IPv6 and IPv4<->IPv4 without relay but mixed IP version is not going to be possible unless the browser can choose the network stack to use and both stacks coexist on the machine. Under such circumstance, when IPv4 and IPv6 network stacks coexist on both ends, does WebRTC specify a capability to choose one over the other? Does IPv6 have an advantage if it’s possible on both ends?
