missing stats types from getStats()

When using connection.getStats() on an audio connection I notice remote-inbound-rtp  and remote-outbound-rtp are not present in the response despite seeing audio go back and forth over the connection. When I enable video, I do see those remote stats in the response. 

Under what conditions would these properties be present in the getStats() response?

they are present on
from what I can see. They depend on RTCP sender and receiver reports though which are sent much less frequently for audio than for video

In that example I don't see any remote-* reports from getStats().
