Below is the list of stations that participated in the FreeDV 40M Tuesday Night Activity Net that met on 11/04/25 at 10PM EDST on 7182 kHz. Propagation was heavily impacted by a solar event which resulted in perfectly readable signals for several seconds that rapidly disappeared seconds later. Overall, we had 57 stations that participated or, at least, tried to participate with varying success. Hopefully, tomorrow evening’s net will experience better propagation conditions.
You can listen to a YouTube recording of the net by searching for “WA5QPZ” and selecting the corresponding recording. Dudley, WA5QPZ, streams the YouTube recording live as well as streaming the audio on Echolink under his callsign. If cannot hear a station at your QTH, you may be able to hear it on Echolink or YouTube (which has a longer delay than Echolink though). Dudley is also the Mid-West/Alternate Net Control.

Two other comments:
1. Please put your name and QTH into FreeDV Reporter when you start the FreeDV program. This will help all of us learn who is who.
2. If you can (assuming you want to try it), download “Netlogger” and monitor the net. This will put you onto a list in the order that you start monitoring from which I can easily create an organized check-in list. You can also see the check-in list that I have created which includes FreeDV Reporter stations as well as any other over-the-air check-ins. This is how Dudley and I try to keep the two of us in sync. If you see the designation “lurking”, it means that I have not yet added you to the list of check-ins.
I hope that everyone enjoyed the net.

Fred

Piggybacking on this, how did FreeDV Reporter hold up last night for everyone on the net? I made some changes over the past week on the server end that I'm hoping helped with reliability. Some of these involve changes to the protocol so CPU usage *should* go down on the server over time once the next FreeDV version is released (the web version already takes advantage of these changes so there was still some immediate improvement).

(Unfortunately, due to family commitments, net participation is rare for me. But I did catch about a minute or two near the beginning of the net and I was able to hear both N3FL and WA5QPZ from my QTH, FWIW.)

Mooneer,
Reporter only hung up one or two times and for maybe 30 seconds at a time,  a noticable improvement over the previous weeks. Thanks for all of your work!

Hi Fred,

I just pushed some additional updates to the server this morning that should hopefully help more (though at the rate the net is growing that might not help for long :)

Thanks,
