Hi,
Thanks to the FreeDV development team, a development release allows for the recording of decoded audio. This has really helped me somewhat narrow down a long standing issue I have been experiencing. When listening to the audio via my headset, everyone sounds like Mickey Mouse. When the decoded audio is played back via Windows Media player the audio is fine and sounds very natural. So I have two questions:
1) Where in processing chain is decoded audio recorded to the WAV file?. Is it before audio processing as defined in the Tools -> Filter -> Speaker Out Equalizer or after the Equalizer?
2) Does anyone have a idea why audio fed to my headset sounds like Mickey Mouse when the decoded audio played back via Window Media player sound fine?
