Hi,

A new fork of Thetis SDR application named Thetis-RADE has been created.
It has native ability to use RADEV1 seamlessly in Thetis as it contains it embedded in the application code just like another mode of operation.
It also gives the familiar Reporter facility for users.
This comes on top of the latest final Ritchie's announced v2.10.3.15 as v2.10.3.16.including all the latest great additions so far.

Github repository is here
and released installers are here

Enjoy!

Hi,

New release just published.
Focus of this release: microphone-conditioning DSP chain on the
RADE transmit path with denoiser, AGC and EQ controls,
a dedicated Setup → DSP → RADE tab that consolidates all RADE controls,
and several improvements in the FreeDV Reporter window.

The latest published installer is here:

Enjoy!

Txs.  It works great.  I still cannot get freedv reporter to work.  I entered call sign and grid in correct format.  I checked and I can open QSO.freedv.org in a web browser.  Suggestions?

Hi Larry,

Callsign accepts letters, numbers and "/"
Locator need to have 6 characters, two alphabetic, two numeric, two alphabetic eg: KM18wb

Yes.  I have it entered in the correct format.  It still does not work.  Is there any other Thetis setting that could be interfering?

There is a .pdf included in the release describing the checkboxes please read it.
There are two checkboxes in setup related to reporter, the one named RADE Reporter (qso.freedv.org) actually enables the reporter window regardless of if you entered callsign and locator. If you enter those two too then the other checkbox named RADE enable reporting when checked it will also show your station visible on reporter. Those checkboxes also exist on console in DIGL/DIGU as RPRT and VIS.
Everything is detailed in the pdf.

Yes, I can read and I have read the entire document.  I have it all setup and it works great except for the freedv reporter.  It is setup according to the document.  The check boxes are checked.   My call sign, W1IZZ is entered.  My grid, FN41ro is entered.  I even forced a Thetis database update, just in case there was an issue.

The freedv reporter window opens.  It displays a message at the bottom, "Connection: Reconnecting in 5s"  It never connects.

Everything else works great.

Hi Christos,

I haven't looked at this implementation too closely, but is there a way to get more logging to help rule out any issues on the server side?

Thanks,

Then that is a network issue.
Are you sure you got internet connection?
If you have a VPN try to disable iit and check again.
The reporter is confirmed working ok at least here and in stations in EU and Asia.

Hi Mooner
I will see tomorrow to place some reporter error logging in the currentlyimplemented log system.

One problem: the container shows decoding of stations and those are shown in the FreeDV Explorer. But I do not get any audio sound off the PC and also the self test does not work. I think it is a WIN10 problem, I cannot resolve. I just have one speaker and one microphone and both work in the WIN10 setup. Tose are show up in the Thetis-Rade setup as well. Any ideas?

Hi Gerhard,

What is your setup there, what transceiver are you using?
I'm also in Win10 and everything works ok (Hermes).
If you use VAC1 so to have mic and speaker, then this is always getting disabled when RADE is enabled, it is written in the Thetis_RADE_Instructions.pdf file.
If you do use VAC, I have not tested the VAC case yet, since Thetis-RADE in these first versions is meant for eliminating VAC usage for external RADE apps, you can test it though yourself by after enbling RADE, do a VAC1 enable, but remember that when RADE gets re-enabled/checked, it will uncheck VAC1 again.

Thanks, I am not at home so I am using my old ANAN10 and simple antenna for WSJTX. I had installed Voicemeeter VAC, but deleted it because of the new TCI mode in Thetis.
Before the VAC was greyed out in Thetis-Rade as it should be according the manual, so I didn't care about. Now I can check VAC1 and there is sound in the playback mode. It is kind of distorted and I have optimized it using the equalizer. But I have to switch on VAC1, otherwise it will not work. I am using Thetis-Rade v2.10.2.18

I do not use a VPN.  I have a very fast internet connection.  As I already mentioned, I can access qso.freedv.org using a web browser.

I do not see any issue here.  If there are log files that might provide information, let me know and I will look at them.

Larry,
There has been no other such report and from the looks of it it's specific to your own network or workstation conditions.
Either way the next planned release among others it will have reporter connection logging, hopefully in a couple of days.
In the meantime you can give it a try using another workstation, no need to connect your rig to it just install Thetis and without power on button go to setup add your details and enable reporter.

From the Thetus error.log file (C:\Users\LWG\AppData\Roaming\OpenHPSDR\Thetis-x64\ErrorLog.txt):

"Entry : 16:03:44 Saturday, May 16, 2026

There were a lot of these entries in the ErrorLog file.

Perhaps this provides a clue?

Using the error message I fixed the issue.  The issue was my local DLL for newtonsoft.json in .Net was slightly older than the one compiled.  I renamed the local DLL and now FreeDV Reporter works as it should.  Interesting puzzle.

I am running Windows 11.

Hi,

New release published v2.10.3.19, with focus on HermesLite2 support and fixed the VAC1/TXGain/RXGain dials to work properly untangled from RADE.
The HL2 support (thanks to MI0BOT repository) is tested on a single HermesLite2 board so we have not tested if every addon option/pcb works ok.

Whoever wants to give some feedback or has any issue and needs support, please use the Github standard process of issue reporting and I'll do my best to assist.

Enjoy!
