PTT Grayed Out

I am able to receive and decode transmissions, but I cannot transmit as the PTT button is grayed out.

I have checked and tested PTT functionality from within the configuration menu. With PTT keying via CAT control, my IC-7300 transceiver keys consistently when tested. But when I return to the main window, the PTT button remains grayed out.

Any ideas appreciated.

Hi Andy. Yes, I did start the modem. Despite doing so, the button remains grayed out.

Might be a silly question, but do you have TX audio devices set up in Tools->Audio Config? If they're set to "none", that will cause PTT to be grayed out.

Also, another thing you can check is Tools->Options->Reporting, specifically making sure "Force RX Only Reporting" is unchecked.

Bingo! Mooneer got it right -- I had the "Force RX Only Reporting" box checked.
