Howdy all,

Please forgive my ignorance about this but I have been helping several people get FreeDV going using Win10 + IC7300.

I have pretty much followed the same process as others,  but one of the problems always seems to be an audio routing problem that starts with transmitting and actually hearing yourself coming back through the computer speaker even though the audio set up appears correct in "Easy Setup" or in the Advanced setup.

I actually got mine to work right out of the box using my MacBOok Pro running Win10 in Bootcamp and but one of my friends with an older HP Laptop is having problems with the above issue. (No transmit, and mic audio routed to the computer speakers.)

Everything else works quite well. Receiving and rig control works well.

Is there a glaringly obvious thing to check?
(I am doing all of it over the phone!)

Hi Rick,

Try right-clicking on the PTT button. Is the monitor option turned on? If so, turn that off and you should stop hearing yourself through the speakers.

(There's also a similar option if you right click on the Voice Keyer button that you may need to disable too.)

Thanks,

Thanks Mooneer!

I have never tried that and never thought of it!

I am assuming it's not a default setting.  You never know what or where someone is clicking when you're doing this stuff over the phone!

Thanks again!
