I'm almost positive I have all the Cat control selections correctly picked.  However, I keep getting "Couldn't connect to Radio with hamlib:" error.  All of my other software I use to connect to the IC-7300 works just fine.  This is happening with the new release.  This is the first time set up.  Does anyone know what I should be looking at?  What do I need to do"

What operating system are you using?

Hi Doug,

You may need to explicitly specify the CI-V address in the "Radio Address" field in Tools->CAT and PTT Config. For the IC-7300MK2, I believe it defaults to "B6" per its CI-V manual and for the original, https://plicht.de/ci-v/civ-bus-adressing/ seems to indicate its default is "94".

Thanks,

It isn't a MKii if that makes any difference.  The attached picture shows my settings. You may be correct and I have it wrong.  I really do appreciate the help you're giving me.

Hi Doug,

Thanks for the screenshot. Are you able to screenshot the error message that appears?

Also, can you get the logs from FreeDV? You can do this by doing the following:

1. Go to Tools->Options->Debugging and ensure both "Show Console" and "Verbose" are checked.
2. Click "Start Modem" and wait for the error box to appear.
3. In the console window that appeared after doing (1), right-click on the title bar and select Select All. Then do it again and choose "Copy".
4. Paste into Notepad or another text editor, then save this output as a file.

Thanks,

-Mooneer K6AQ

Never thought the computer was part of the problem.    Rebooted the computer and all the issues went away.   I really appreciate the help you had provided.   Thank you!

Doug
