Hi and HNY 2026

In spite of intensive searching, I did not find any info on where to send suggestions for any future versions of the already very good FreeDV software.
Surely, FreeDV users often detect "nice to haves" or "should haves" while using the software. Then there are also the occasional bug reports.
Further to that, I noticed that post-installation problems often occur and users find solutions themselves or get good advice on problem solving from other users.

Should we not collect such info of problem solving somewhere or is there already a place for this?

So, please let me know where we can post suggestions for FreeDV and for problem solving.

thanks

Sorry it's difficult to find this, our development aoftware repo is
currently on github and that is where to look.

This is the starting point for such requests:

https://github.com/drowe67/freedv-gui/issues

The Project Leadership Team does consider feature additions and changes
and given the limited development resources they are prioritised as
necessary and for resource availability.

Bug reports of course get priority especially if they are affecting a
significant number of users.

Adding to Brian’s comments, if there are any suggestions for feature enhancements etc.., there is a link on the main FreeDV web site to make a formal request for ideas of any kind.  Here’s a direct link to the form if you would rather go straight to it though.  FreeDV-027 Feature Request Form V1.1

It's the MANY great ideas from everyone that had made FreeDV as nice as it is today with continuous updates, from bug reports and feature enhancement requests always coming in.

Thanks to all for helping us catch the things we may miss, and guiding us to continued improvements all along the way.

For any general type comments for the FreeDV community, this very email reflector is indeed the right place to start first.

If you ever get stuck along the journey, there is a HELP tab at the top of the FreeDV client, and select “Get Assistance” for the many different ways you can reach out to the FreeDV team and/or user community.

Hope that helps, all the best,

Walter/K5WH
