I am a new and have tried to search the conversation.
I have a Baofeng UV 82 + AIOC + USBC cable + Pi Zero 2W + USB Hub + + GPS receiver + external 5V power
I have access to the Pi via home Wi Fi and HTTP://Digipi.local
I have GPS lock as seen in shell caps and well as the GPS UI (Same command I think)
AIOC detected as seen with arecord. Also when Pi is booted I see a green led on the AIOC connector. I believe perhaps falsely that the PI is connected to the radio (How does one prove it?)

When I select APRS/IPgrate or APRS disputer on the UI with the slider bar I see the green slider indicator. After a few moment the sliders revert back to a grey color indicating that these functions are off.

Is there an obvious thing I am doing wrong?

I have the radio ON tuned to 144.390 with volume at about the halfway point and that is working.

I have looked at Craig's older 2021 You tube about digipeter, I follow teh discussion of firewood conf setting. I see values for call sign KJ4ZZB-2, APRS-IS pass code etc have been imported from the initialize process to direwolf.conf file.

Hi Scott,

This all looks right to me.

I suspect you might be using Safari or non-chrome/non-firefox browser?  the slider
animation doesn't work and it's easy to double click them (turning them on and
immediately off).  Click on a slide, then wait a couple seconds.

ADEVICE should be commented out, yes.

USB connection looks good.

You can click SysInfo (or run arecord, that works too) to see the audio and
serial device (both aioc).

best,
-craig

Craig

Thank you I hope it shows that I am doing my homework.

Last question how from the cli does one vary that the radio is talking to digipi? You are correct about safari I will load Chrome on my Mac.

I need I think to modify teh dire wolf beacon to use my GPS
Thanks

Safari should work, but the slider doesn't "animate" it still turns green if you
click then wait a second.  It's something I need to fix.

The only packet mode that uses your GPS is the "APRS Tracker" and it
will use the GPS device file found in /etc/default/gpsd  (which should have
the gps device you defined during Initialization already).

cool,

I found my Baofengs didn't have good enough receivers, so I switched to a Quansheng K6. That's got good enough ears to hear at least something. Unfortunately, the antenna on it is a mobile antenna on the secure package box on the porch. Not very high up. So I need to get a proper 2m/70cm antenna up in the air higher. Our handyman will help me do it, so maybe that'll improve soon.

The handyman is interested in ham radio, so I'm going to try to Elmerette him a bit.
