I have an upcoming SOTA project coming up. I want to transmit an SSTV image from every Peak I visit. I am going to be using a Xiegu X6100. I am familiar with QSSTV but when using it with the DigiPi how do I get new images onto the device. I want to take an image of the summit on my phone and then have it available to transmit?

A second issue I have is how do I scale the image of QSSTV on my phone. At the moment all I get is the left hand side of the app. Even is 'Desktop' view it is too big. It is fine on my Mac?

Any help would be appreciated. 73

that sounds like great fun!  We'll want copies of those images here :)

QSSTV images are accessible with scp or sftp,

p...@digipi.local  /home/pi/.config/qsstv

(note the "." prefix on .config)

Press [save configuration] on the digipi home page to commit the changes to the SD card
for next boot once you've dropped your files there.

I'm told Windows users use "FileZilla" to do this stuff?

pi@digipi:~/.config/qsstv $ find .

That is great thanks. On Android I am using CX File Explorer, which can do SFTP so I can use that. The only issue now is , is there a way to scale the QSSTV page so I van see the whole screen?

Right - two ways.

one, tap the little "nub" menu on the left side of the screen to change the scaling
or full screen options.

two, (and I recommend this one), get the RealVNC client for android and use that
hostname: digipi:5901   (or 10.0.0.5:5901 on the summit)
   password: test11

RealVNC is MUCH more ergonomic -- pan and scan, mouse works like a track pad, etc.

if it helps,

Hi Martin,

Sounds like a challenge!  Are you planning to take a photo on the summit, then broadcast the image from there?  You might need an intermediate step via a laptop to achieve this.
Preview in MacOS has the ability to resize images, and is what I use to reduce pictures for QSSTV transmission, usually to 800X600 or 1024X796 or similar.
You can resize images on an iPhone using Shortcuts and Resize Images as explained here.
Depends on what OS you are using on the summits.
Cheers,

Hi Craig and Martin,
When out portable I am trying to get digipi on RealVNC on my android tablet. When trying to start a new RealVNC session all it asks for is "address" and "name". When I try   digipi:5901   (or 10.0.0.5:5901 on the summit) for address RealVNC doesn't recognize either. So what would the address actually be?
I can get digipi just fine when using Chrome as a web browser on the same tablet.
Thanks for any help.
Ken

10.0.0.5 should always work when in hotspot mode.  try disabling your cellular/mobile internet.

digipi.local or just digipi could/should work, depending on your wifi router, as it assigns the names
per DigiPi's request.
