Updated Winlink PW won't stick in Pat Email client after DigiPi reboot

I update my password in the Pat Email client to reflect my current Winlink password (Action, Configure, Secure Login Password, Save Changes, restart) and I all works as expected. I can send/receive Winlink messages. Logins are successful. However, after a DigiPi reboot, my area Winlink email server rejects my login for bad password. If I update the password again, logins work until the next DigiPi reboot/power cycle.

What do I do to make my new Winlink password stick?

Just press "Save configuration" on DigiPis main page.

If this doesn't work open a shell

type: sudo remount

then change the password 

go back to the shell and type 

sudo reboot
