Hello,

I have xPDFsuite installed on my Windows PC (windows 10). However,  PDFgui crashes every time I try to start the modeling of PDF data.
I see in the conversations few similar issues, which could be related to having a old version of PDFgui.
I do have a quite old version PDFgui 1.1a. Can you please tell me how I can update it to PDFgui 2 or any other version that will not crash?

Best regards,
Praveen

Hi Praveen,

Sorry for the difficulties.   My suggestion would be to install the latest version of PDFgui from diffpy.org in a separate conda environment (follow the instructions there) and just run it separately from xPDFsuite for now.   We are working on updating everything together but we are a bit short of skilled manpower ATM.

You will have to run the new PDFgui in a separate conda environment from the xpdfsuite gui (open a separate terminal window to do this) as xPDFsuite is still using Python2 but the new PDFgui uses P3. But you can have both open at the same time if they are running in different processes/ environments.  Reach out if the instructions on diffpy.org are not clear.

Hi Simon,

Thank you for the suggestion. I would then install PDFgui in a separate conda environment. Hopefully, it will work.

Best regards,
Praveen
