Sharing an impression

Everyone,

We attended a wedding in a Catholic church today. Something came over me in the midst of this.

Love itself is transforming. This is what it is. There is no receiver nor giver. This is the transforming. 

Nothing local nor interpersonal in it at all.

Jeff, Dan et al! 

Nobody can disagree with love as the source. When we look at love in operation what do we see?

A mother or Father giving a whack on the butt to a child, scolding when they do wrong, a leader who wants his team to win and therefore takes measures that would help the team to win, a president who goes to war who believes we can get cheap gas ! 

All acts of love but are they? But the one who is in control thinks it is isn’t it? 

Love unconditionally is not what we are taught as love. Love with compassion has to be detached not attached to anything else we repeat what our parents did as we did not know better?

There is a lot of violence in THIS.
What we can’t control, we can’t resist.

Yet where violence can stop, it feels right to stop it.

We are not separate from it—
but we don’t have to call all of it love.

Where it can stop, let it stop.
