Rani,

Thanks for sending that in. I was thinking this morning how people who are "awake" are still different. We can't be who we are without the difference. And that was expressing itself Thursday night in the Zoom meeting, which I didn't have a problem with and was getting very amused by it. We don't only express it in different ways, we see it in different ways, which is OK. I myself have seen it evolve in different ways in myself. Since I had my awakening around 30 years old and I'm now 83, I've had a long time to see it change through the years, how it is seen, and how it is expressed. I can see some people expressing it the way I used to see it.

As you usually say, peace, love, and joy,

Paul

Therein lies unity in diversity!
The energetic principle in each the driving force expressed in varied ways! Else life would be so 🥱 boring!
As Dickens said a Diamond is beautiful as it’s rare. If it’s as plentiful as stones who would stoop to pick it up!
If we can see that this ‘embodiment’ of the same energetic principle wanted to explore life through the differences through all of the manifested universe, We embrace differences and there is always
Love peace and Joy as it unfolds !

Rani, Paul, Jeff and All,
I feel a bit of an outsider here since I was not present on Thursday. I have always felt that what the gentleman said is true, nothing is ever repeated in awakening etc.

But the general theme here brought something up. What are sameness or uniqueness? Are they opposites, or is this sense something arising in the mind as assessment or comparison? Not that these shouldn't be. It is just that it occurs to me that even as I might live the very same pattern in my daily affairs, or say the same thing over and over, day after day, there is nothing same about it. It is always unique in this sense, in that it is always alive. Uniqueness seems to point to the absence of comparison, not of time and space, in this sense.

So when there is love, is it the "same" love? It seems always unique in the midst of it, it has nothing to compare itself to. I guess this is true for everything actually happening. Now has no comparison, because comparing is always now. And none of this feels philosophical to me, again, it is simply referring to being in the midst of what is happening.

But all these are just impressions, arising uniquely right here and now in this perspective. This seems to reflect what you are each pointing to, relating to your Thursday meeting.

Sorry for coming in here out of left field..... (oh, I am left handed afterall......).  -Dan

Dan,

I was appreciating what you had to say here. Comparison is in the moment, right? It's not outside of life. When I'm working with imagery, comparison becomes really important. All the differences are in play. Maybe I'm missing something?

Rani, yes, uniqueness is shared, as all that is, is unique simply because it is (imho). There can be an appreciation for this in the moment, without it becoming simply a philosophy. -Dan

Dan, this resonates. The tree outside my terrace flowers each spring, yet no flowering is ever the same. The mind says repetition. Life seems to say aliveness. Perhaps uniqueness is less about difference and more about meeting this moment without comparison. 🌳🙏

Dan,
We see diversity in everyday life ,
the flowers, the cacti, the people who gather at zoom meetings, the furniture the trees you name it each is in Sanskrit Anmol , a beautiful word which I reluctantly translate to unique. It just IS, so is it a philosophy? 🫣🤔

Rani, thanks, I'm with you. I didn't mean to imply what shared as being philosophical. It simply may reflect the immediacy of the moment. I was speaking more generally, sorry for the confusion.

And at the same time, there is nothing missing in being philosophical. It is just as alive as that which it attempts to describe.

Jeff, Paul, Rani, All,

Thanks for responding. Comparing itself is non-comparative, itself, just as alive as the trees. So to awaken to the mind moving as comparing has nothing within to compare.

It also occurred to me that comparing can refer to different situations. One is natural and nonverbal, like getting the lay of the garden in order to put in a plant or to take a tissue from its box. The other moves in concepts and words. Both are equally valid and useful, and equally alive. It is just interesting to see how they have their particular realms or realities in which they operate.

It amazes me that each moment is unique and eternal — never repeated, yet never outside THIS.

Thanks Jeff, yes. Now and This, for me, each refer to unknowing (not known to thought), meaning not a defined thing. This is its action on us....

Dan, yes. Direct seeing.
