Dear Devon Village HOA,

We will hold our Annual Community HOA Meeting on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 10:00 AM with a rain/inclement weather date of Saturday, Oct. 18 at 10:00 AM.

We will meet at the far end of our parking lot - please bring a chair.

All homeowners of Devon Village are invited, members of our Board will be present, and Paul Joslin will join us from RowCal - our property management company.

We look forward to seeing you there!

PS: If we need to postpone the meeting until the 18th due to inclement weather, we will send you an email on the morning of the 4th.

Hello all,

I believe a formal notice was sent out to the community (see below) about two weeks ago.

We will be cheering Scarlett on at her karate tournament and are unable to attend.  Hope the meeting is helpful and productive!

I did not get that notice. Neither did Dawn or TDP and no doubt others
Under the circumstances I suggest the meeting be held on the rain date, next week saturday.

Thank you Ashley for sharing this message.  I've searched my emails/notifications for this message sent on 09/23/25 and don't see it.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the Annual Community HOA Meeting because of the short notice and I will be celebrating a parent's birthday this weekend.

Good luck to Scarlett at her tournament!

Best,

Tamika

Hi,

The email was sent notifying the community of the October 4th HOA Community meeting at 10 AM.

We are going to keep this meeting date and time with rain date of October 18.

Hope to see you this Saturday.

All the best,
Susan on behalf of the Board

I have done that. It's not there. And I have not talked to anyone who did receive it.
I dont think it is democratic to hold an important meeting that involves the well being of the whole community, (and the election of new board members?) with 2 days notice.
The rain date has been set for next sat. Is there a good reason why we cant meet then?

I am not available. I have standing meetings every first Saturday of the month from September-June.

Meeting notice was in spam and I do not use gmail often. Please use tma...@msn.com moving forward as this is my primary email address.

Thanks,
Tracey Henderson

The email notification was in my spam folder too (as Julian mentioned to check).  However, the email was under a subject line referring to the butterfly report.  It would have been helpful if the notification was sent in a separate email with a subject line referring to the Annual HOA meeting.

I agree with Ann's statement and opinion as well.

Sincerely,

Tamika

Please let us know as soon as possible if you are able to attend the HOA meeting this Saturday.  We will then determine if we need to reschedule to the rain date which is 2 weeks from this Saturday, October 18.

Dear all,

The message was also in my spam.   This Saturday I likely won’t be able to attend.  The 18th should be better.

Best,

Maria

Hi Tracey

I'm sending a new invite to tma...@msn.com.

I also noticed member @basha...@gmail.com is still showing "Pending" on the group invite

Hi all, I also was not notified and am unfortunately unable to attend. I would have liked to be there and am wondering if we should meet on the other date to accommodate so many people absent. Either way thanks for the information. And Happy October! I guess we are officially done the summer but hopefully it will be a wonderful spring!!!

I have a commitment which I would prefer not to cancel. The 18th is better
Julian there must be a reason why the email went into spam. I have been here for 15 years. This is the first time this has happened. Did it come from a different server?

Morning Ann

I'm not aware of our Google Group modifying how it sends out email. I ran the issue through AI to see what could be the cause for folks not receiving Susan's email into their inboxes, while others did (output below). For me (personal & business) I tend to check my spam folder periodically to make sure i'm not missing valuable messages. Sometimes an email from a trusted source may have strange characters in the body or subject line, setting off my spam filter in error.

Hope this helps

AI Output:

Content triggers

  • A message in the group may have included wording, links, or attachments that tripped spam filters.

  • Repeated “marketing-like” language or multiple hyperlinks can raise the score.

User behavior signals
  • If enough recipients marked past Google Group emails as “spam” instead of unsubscribing, mail providers may downgrade trust.

  • Low open/click rates over time can also impact deliverability.

Recipient mailbox/provider filtering changes

  • Gmail, Outlook, and others regularly tweak spam detection algorithms. Even if nothing changed on your side, they may have tightened rules.

  • Sometimes filters “learn” from one user moving a message to spam, and apply it to others.

👉 What you can do:

  • Mark messages as “Not Spam” to retrain filters.

  • If needed, whitelist the group’s address in your inbox
