Nice to see Drew Anderson finally have a good game.  10 outs, no hits or runs.  He could be a great asset as a 7th starter/long man if he can adjust to major league hitters.   The way the Tigers collect injuries, the 7th starter can quickly become the 4th.

His season ERA is down to 4.66 - approaching reasonableness.

Marlins had been hitting well coming into this series, but the Tigers' pitching has really cooled them off.  Good job from Mize and Anderson today.

Skubal pitching tomorrow against the re-vitalized righty Sandy Alcantara, who seems to be back to his old form after a couple of rough seasons (he missed 2024 with Tommy John surgery and struggled comning back from the surgery last year).  Could be a bigtime pitcher's duel.

I was kind of hoping the Tigers would sign Alcantara this past offseason.  He re-signed with the Marlins for $17.3 million this year with a team option for $21 million next year.
