OF Michael Tucker signed with the Dodgers for 4 years, $240 million, so $60 million per season.
Good grief!

Boras is going to demand $70 million per season for Skubal.

Michael Tucker was a decent OF from the late 90s to mid-2000s.
He made $14 million in his entire career.  Kyle Tucker will make that in a month.  LOL!

That is ridiculous money. The Dodgers are the new Yankees and they will ruin baseball. Tucker is ok but he isn’t a superstar and doesn’t deserve superstar money.

Maybe our guys are smarter than I give them credit for. For the first time I may agree that Tarik is going to work himself out of Detroit. MLB is starting to lose its appeal because of the money and how it is destroying the game.
$60 million for Tucker? There has to be more or the story that we don’t know. He is not ever a $30 million per year guy.

The Dodgers, Mets and Yankees can eventually just play with themselves over and over.

And the Mets just landed Bo Bichette for 3 years/$126 million.   Again a scenario where he’s a really good player but $42 million a year?

More drunkenness.

I wonder what happens with the new CBA?  The first thing I expect is an extended lockout/strike possibly wiping out the 2027 season, since no players and most executives have not experienced a prior lockout or strike and especially the backlash from fans.  (I know a couple of folks who still say they stopped following baseball in 1994!)

I agree that the money has become more and more insane.  Long term illnesses and injuries will affect a player with a very large long term contract eventually, or m a signee will immediately

Sorry for the repost.  I accidentally posted this before it was quite complete.

It's almost as if these teams are spending like crazy before the CBA expires.   These same teams will claim poverty in the CBA negotiations.

Out of control.  Bichette has a lot of value if he can play competently at SS, but he's terrible at SS.  We don't even know if he'll be competent defensively at 3B or 2B.  We'll see if the Mets try him in the OF or even 1B, or he'll just end up as a DH.
