I realize that Peter's being facetious, but I am skeptical that McGonigle could teach his otherworldly bat-to-ball skills to anyone.  

And Greene is one extended slump to a bunch of us abandoning his bandwagon (but maybe that's just me).

It’s a bit cliche to say a player is streaky; every player is streaky to some extent.  But Greene does seem to be hot and cold more than most.  When he’s hot, he’s among the league’s best, but he has these long cold stretches where he’s awful.  I hope between Greene and the coaches they can figure it out.

I prefer Dr. Riley to Mr. Greene!

McGonigle isn't getting many pitches to drive lately.  He's hanging in there and still getting walks and singles, but his power numbers are going down. 

I don't think opposing pitchers fear him that much since the guys batting behind him (apart from Greene) are not scary.

You walk McGonigle and then Greene or Dingler gets a single, a walk, or even a double, you still don't need to worry about the rest of the Tigers' lineup batting behind them.  You still have a good chance of getting out of the inning without much damage.
