Hao-Yu Lee swings at a 3-0 pitch and hits a 3-run homer in the top of the 4th.  Tigers lead 4-1 in the top of the 6th.

Montero is hanging in there with only a solo homer allowed to Suzuki in the 1^st inning and 7 Ks through 5 IP.

I didn't understand why Torres was on the bench tonight and Lee starting at 2B against the righty Rea, but I'm not complaining now.

Apparently Hinch just wanted to give Torres a rest after 2 days back from the IL.  Torres' fielding last night was atrocious (he didn't seem to want to move on a couple of plays) so maybe that's one reason he got benched for one game tonight.  Perhaps Torres isn't 100% yet.

The Cubs are 57-45 but the Tigers have a much better starting rotation than the Cubs.  If the Cubs had the Tigers' rotation they'd probably be in 1^st place in the NL Central.

I'm not sure the Cubs' bullpen is much better than the Tigers either.

It's a big reason why I think the Cubs could be interested in Skubal (and possibly Mize if he's healthy enough).  Heck, they might even be interested in Finnegan and Jansen.

I think the Cubs will definitely be trading for pitching help at the deadline.

Cubs' top prospect is 21-year-old SS Jefferson Rojas, who has a .815 OPS with 14 homers in AA. Would love to get him for Skubal.  🙂
