Excellent start from Mize today with 6 shutout innings.

As for the rest of the Tigers, they scored 1 run in 10 innings and lose 2-1...1 run ain't gonna cut it.

 

Gage Workman is back to being the strikeout machine he was in the minors.  Major league pitchers have already got him figured out. Torres is expected to be activated this week so Workman might be sent back in Toledo soon, although Short might be sent down instead.

Sadly, Wenceel Perez is not a major league hitter. He was at least close to average in 2024/25, but he's bottom of the barrel now.

Lee is another candidate to be sent down when Torres is activated.

It could be Lee, Workman or Short.  I suspect Short will stay on the roster until Baez comes back because Short can play SS.

They might want to keep Workman around as a lefty to bat against righties while Carpenter is on the IL, so Lee might be the odd man out when Torres comes back.
