Yesterday, Will Vest gaave up three runs in the top of the fourth inning.  The Tigers scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth, but the Phillies tied the game with an unearned run in the top of the ninth, and it ended in a 4-4 tie.

Kazuma Okamoto led off the top of the fourth with a double, stopped at third base on a single by Eloy Jimenez, and scored on a single by Nathan Lukes.  A wild pitch my Mr. Vest allowed Mr. Jimenez and Mr. Lukes to advance, and, after two groundouts, Ernie Clement singled to drive in Mr. Jimenez and Mr. Lukes.

In the bottom of the sixth, Riley Greene walked, Max Clark pinch-ran for Mr. Greene, Josue Briceno singled, Coey Julks singled to drive in Mr. Clark, Hao-Yu Lee was safe at first on a force out of Mr. Julks at second, and Thayron Liriano homered to drive in Mr. Briceno and Mr. Lee.

In the top of the ninth, Riley Tirotta was safe on a fielding error by Josu Briceno, went to third on a single by Leo Jimenez, and scored on a fielder's choice combined with a throwing error by John Peck at shortstop.  

Casey Mize started the game.  He gave up one hit and two walks in two scoreless innings of work.  He struck out one.

Kyle Finnegan gave up one hit and one walk but o runs in the third.  He struck out one.

In the fourth, Will Vest gave up three runs on three hits.  He only got two outs.  

Dylan Smith got the last out of the fourth, but only after giving up a two-run single to Ernie Clement.  He stayed around to pitch the fifth, where he gave up two additional singles.

Tyler Holton allowed no runs on no hits and one walk in the sixth.  He struck out two.

Tyler Mattison struck out the side in the seventh.

In the eighth, Tanner Kohlhepp allowed no hits and no walks while striking out one.

In the ninth, Duque Hebbert gave up one unearned run on one hit and a pair of fielding errors behind him.  Luke Stofel came on to get the final out of the inning.

This afternoon, the Tigers will travel to Sarasota, to play the Orioles at Ed Smith Stadium.  Dean Kremer, a righty, witll start for the Orioles, while Keider Montero will get the ball for the Tigers.

That's cool Duke Hebbert got to pitch in a Tigers' spring training game.  
Hebbert is the Nicaraguan ex-plumber who put his name on the map in the WBC by striking out Juan Soto, Julio Rodriguez and Rafael Devers consecutively in a game in 2023.  He signed with the Tigers' system after that.  He hasn't done much in the lower minors (he's 24), but good for him.  He's on the Nicaraguan team roster again for the upcoming WBC.
