Successful day at the 2025 Assemble exhibition at the Silk Mill. Bill,
Tony, Al, Brendan and I entertained a long line of young makers wanting
to make their own lengths of rope. The rope maker worked a treat and is
now in need of a little TLC. We got through the full reel of string and
the kids loved to be able to choose their own colours. We also had some
interest from some of the other exhibitors and gave away several
leaflets. We received several donations and I am sure Brendan will reply
once he has managed to count it all up.
The follow up is to:
1) Service the ropemaker.
2) Get another reel of string.
3) Locate a pair of safety scissors.
4) Consider other opportunities for exhibiting.
5) Review exhibits and pictures that we have.
We can have a round up at the next meeting to see what we all think
worked well and what we can do for future outings.
Thanks to all who helped and contributed including Gwen who made the
table cloth and supplied several of the exhibits.
Cheers
Bernard
