Test Errors

Hi group members,

I'm a new user. After I installed the dedaLESon my centos machine  along the guide, I executed the 'python3 -m dedalus test' and got some TypeError as follow:

'E                   TypeError: 'numpy.float128' object cannot be interpreted as an integer

/opt/anaconda3/envs/dedalus/lib/python3.8/site-packages/scipy/special/_basic.py:2382: TypeError'

I don't know what I can do with this. Is there any suggestion? Many thanks.

I have just installed Dedalus and I have the same problem when I run python3 -m dedalus test.

Did you find out what the problem was?

Hi all,

This looks like a known issue, though you haven't included enough of the error message for me to be sure. If it is the same error as reported here:

https://github.com/DedalusProject/dedalus/issues/110

then unless you need Hermite or Laguerre polynomials you can simply ignore it. If you do need these bases, you can upgrade the released version to the latest version on github by following the instructions at that pull request. This will be fixed in the next release.

If the error message is not the same as the one reported there, please feel free to report back here.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the response and clarification! The error message is the same as your link, but I don't need the Hermite/Laguerre polynomials. Some of the example scripts also aren't working for me, but the one I need has run successfully.
