Official conda package

But it looks like is not maintained and updated anymore.

Did you consider create and maintain an own feedstock?

We could use the one above as a starting point.

I would argue that conda+python+jupyter is by far the most common combination for those doing applied research and is getting installed in many computer classes here in Europe.
