Hello,

I'm using the ASPECT software which was compiled using deal.ii. I'm having problems running models through the software and the error files states that issue is coming from deal.ii. We've attempted to update both deal.ii and to the new version of the software but neither have been successful.

The main issue I'm getting is that my models seem to run for a little bit then pause without writing new data and most of the time don't fail to show an error.
I've attached a copy of the error file but please let me know if you'd like to see anything or if you'd like to clarify something.

I'd appreciate any help I can get

Best,
Hadeel

This is clearly some internal bug in deal.II. Can you provide us with all of
the input files necessary to reproduce the issue?

Is this in debug mode? Or are you seeing this behavior in release mode?

Hello,

Apologies for the late response!
I'm experiencing this issue in both release and debug mode.

I've attached a sample of the ASPECT parameter file used and batch script.

Thanks!

I'm trying to run your model with the current ASPECT development
version, and it errors out with the following message:

Line <136> of file <input string>: No entry with name <Minimum
particles per cell> was declared in the current subsection.

If I comment out this and the next line, I get into this error:

Line <138> of file <input string>: No entry with name <Load balancing
strategy> was declared in the current subsection.

What version of ASPECT are you using? What happens if you adapt your
code to the ASPECT 3.0 release and see whether that works?

Best
W.
