Memory Measurements

Hi all,

I would like to measure the VRAM usage in my WebGPU application. How do I go about doing this, if at all possible?

Hey Joyos,

There isn't a way to measure the VRAM usage with the WebGPU API, for a variety of reasons ranging from non-portability, to fingerprinting, to not having a clear way to do this on some underlying APIs. Depending on the OS you could do it manually in different ways (for example the Windows task manager has something) or estimate the memory usage based on the resources that you create.
