Hi all,

I want to store metadata fields (with data added through the native API) but not display them to users (at least, non-admin users). I thought I had found a way to do this before but can't figure it out now. Anybody?

Thanks,
Aaron

Hello Aaron,

You get set metadata fields to hidden by deselecting them in the Edit>General Information menu for your dataverse.
See the added screenshot.

Kind regards,
Laura

Thanks Laura, I'm aware of that, but it doesn't actually hide fields displayed in the metadata tab on the dataset. It hides input boxes, but if you've already input the data, it still shows up. Sounds like this is unexpected behavior so I'll file an issue.

Hi,

this is something that we might be interested in as well.
For administrative purposes, we would like users to fill out a metadata field upon dataset creation, e.g.:

This dataset is
[ ] a
[ ] b
[ ] c

but we would not like this information to be publicly visible.

Any ideas?

Best regards,
Falco

Hi Falco. I just checked and I don't believe Aaron ever opened an issue for this so please feel free to create one.

Thanks,

Phil
