EDF file unknown extension

Hello there,

I am currently running Dataverse 5.4.1 , i found something strange in my log file :

[2022-09-30T09:02:23.152+0000] [Payara 5.2021.4] [INFO] [] [edu.harvard.iq.dataverse.util.FileUtil] [tid: _ThreadID=72 _ThreadName=http-thread-pool::http-listener-1(1)] [timeMillis: 1664528543152] [levelValue: 800] [[
  edf is a file extension Dataverse doesn't know about. Consider adding it to the MimeTypeDetectionByFileExtension.properties file.]]

I thought there's a user need to upload .edf file and dataverse doesn't recognize the extension. How to deal with this issue? thank you..

Hi Ayu,

What is a .edf file? Does it have a standard mimeType/contentType?

As the log message indicates, it's possible to add edf=[contentType] to https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/blob/v5.11.1/src/main/java/propertyFiles/MimeTypeDetectionByFileExtension.properties so that .edf files are detected.

But we need the contentType. Please see the link above for examples.

Edf is file extension from CAD software.
