There is a new tool, DataSeer https://dataseer.ai/
that "reads" an article to discover datasets and makes suggestions about where to share that data. You can read a recent blog about this new tool here: https://scholarlykitchen.sspnet.org/2020/11/17/start-up-stories-bringing-dataseer-a-new-data-sharing-toolkit-from-idea-to-launch/

I tried it out and saw that Dryad, Zenodo and Figshare were the only "generalist" repositories suggested. So I tweeted and sent feedback that they were missing Dataverse. See their response below.

Hi Sherry,

Many thanks for your email. We’ll add Dataverse in as a recommended repository for that general list. We will be moving to a context-dependent repository recommender in the next 6 weeks or so, and that will take things like journal, funder, institution, and taxon into account when creating a list of suitable repositories.

All the best,

Tim

Please add "Dataverse" as an option for uploading data (as a suitable repository). Harvard's Dataverse is a great, definitely suitable, repository for tabular data. https://support.dataverse.harvard.edu/

Thanks, Sherry. Let us know whether it would be useful to have a conversation with them about Dataverse repositories, since our community provides much more than one single repository.

Best,
Mercè
