Dear All,

I am trying to start the Payara domain, but it fails because port 7676 is already in use. I updated the port number in the domain.xml file and restarted the server, but I am still getting the same error.

So far, I have tried the following steps:

bash
CopyEdit
sudo systemctl stop payara6 sudo pkill -9 -f imqbrokerd sudo pkill -9 -f payara sudo pkill -9 -f glassfish sudo rm -rf /usr/local/payara6/glassfish/domains/domain1/imq/* sudo rm -rf /usr/local/payara6/mq/var/* sudo rm -rf /tmp/imq /var/tmp/imq /var/tmp/imqbrokerd sudo rm -rf /usr/local/payara6/glassfish/domains/domain1/logs/*.lck sudo rm -f /usr/local/payara6/glassfish/domains/domain1/*.pid sudo reboot

Despite these steps, the issue persists.

Could you please suggest what else I can try to resolve this?

Thank you.

Don and I talked about this and our best guess is that Payara didn't shut down fully. I mean that an old instance of Payara was probably using port 7676. We've had reports of this in the past: https://groups.google.com/g/dataverse-community/c/V3T_6jt-rNg/m/JTaeXz8eBAAJ

I do understand that you even rebooted the server. I assume you have an init script in place to start Payara on boot, as we recommend.

Can you suggest ways we might be able to replicate the problem? Also, please feel free to create an issue at https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues if you like! There's definitely something strange going on.

Thanks,

Phil
